When the certification for Matter, the new wireless standard for connecting smart devices “no matter” the wireless connection, was finalized, we were told most of the products that would be certified first were smart plugs, sensors, and hubs. Well, TP-Link decided not to wait and introduced their new KP125M, the Kasa Smart Plug with Matter certification and energy monitoring capabilities today.

For those of you who don’t know Kasa Smart, they are a leading provider of smart home devices and one of the first companies to obtain the Matter 1.0 certification. The root certificate issued by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) to the KP125M will pave the way for creating a seamless smart home experience.
The most valuable feature of the KP125M is its energy monitoring capability. Users can make informed decisions about their energy consumption by monitoring energy consumption over time.
