Non-functioning models claim to show what the new 5G iPhone family will look like
We now have our best look yet at the design of the new iPhone 12 family, thanks to a set of dummy models appearing online.
Published on Twitter by technology leaker Sonny Dickson over the weekend, the images show three iPhone 12 dummy models.

Such models are often produced using data from schematics shared by Apple or its manufacturing partners, so that makers of accessories like cases can get up to speed before the new phone is revealed. These particular dummy models come after a set of simpler, all-metal ones appeared online earlier in June.
Dickson says the three models of iPhone 12 will have screen sizes of 5.4, 6.1 and 6.7 inches, making the largest, likely called the iPhone 12 Pro Max, a particularly big handset. The smaller models are expected to be called the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro.
Dickson also says that, while the basic chassis of the phones is "promising," the camera and display notch details of these models "should not be taken 100 percent".

Indeed, we have previously learned that the smallest iPhone 12 is expected to have two rear cameras instead of three. We also believe at least one model will come with the same Lidar sensor as the most recent iPad Pro, for enhanced depth sensing and augmented reality abilities.
The models show what has been rumored for a while, in that the next iPhone will have flat instead of curved sides, partially resembling the slab-sided iPhone 4 and 5.
Although Apple has its WWDC keynote address later today (June 22), the launch of the iPhone 12 will likely take place in its normal slot in September. Today, we expect to get our first official look at iOS 14, the software that will come preinstalled on the new iPhone, plus updates on iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and MacOS.
