First VR Surgery Live Now

The first livestream of surgery in virtual reality went live at the Royal London hospital at about 8:20 am EDT this morning.

You can watch the surgery live by downloading the VR in OR app on both iOS and Android. Then put your smartphone into a Samsung Gear VR or Google Cardboard VR device, like this one.

Don't have a VR headset. (Why? They're so affordable now!) You can also watch surgeon Shafi Ahmed live and listen to him as he operates on the Medical Realities web site. (Yes, he's also the founder of this start-up.)
