TOZO Golden X1 Wireless Earbuds Review
When looking for wireless earbuds, it is important to find comfortable ones with long battery life. The fit in your ear is essential. You don't want them falling out while walking or bending over to pick up something. And you also want to check to see if the earbuds are waterproof or sweatproof rated, especially if you plan to wear them during workouts. This will ensure the wireless earbuds will not break down on you. We recently got a chance to test new wireless earbuds from TOZO called TOZO Golden X1 Wireless. These new earbuds surprised us while testing. Check out below what impressed us when we tested these new wireless earbuds.
What are TOZO Golden X1 Wireless Earbuds?
TOZO Golden X1 are wireless earbuds with a hybrid driver system. It also has a Balanced Armature and 12mm dynamic drivers, which manipulates the treble and bass for the ultimate sound quality. These drivers are also designed to produce rich, detailed sound with a wide soundstage to provide an immersive sound experience not often found in wireless earbuds. TOZO X1 earbuds also support LDAC high-resolution audio, which can deliver CD-quality sound over Bluetooth.
The TOZO Golden X1 also has active noise cancellation (ANC) to block out background noise. This can be helpful for listening to music in noisy environments or taking calls in noisy places. And there is a transparency mode that allows you to hear your surroundings without taking the TOZO X1 earbuds out of your ears.
Another nice feature of the TOZO Golden X1 is its long battery life. These earbuds can play up to 8 hours of listening on a single charge. And when you combine the power in the charging case, users can get an additional 3 recharges for a total of up to 30 days of listening time.

Speaking of the charging case, the compact case measures 2.76 x 1.97 x 1.97 inches. It can easily fit inside a small purse or your pocket. It also has a digital LED smart display that can let you know the headphone battery in real time for each earbud. And you can charge the case using the supplied USB-C power cord or any compatible Type-C charging cord.
And speaking of waterproof or sweatproof, the TOZO X1 earbuds are IPX6 water-resistant rated. This means you can wear them in the rain or working out without worrying about getting them damaged.
Lastly, a vital feature of the TOZO X1 earbuds is the fit. These wireless earbuds come with an ergonomic, comfortable fit. Besides the lightweight, the TOZO X1 is designed to fit perfectly in your ear so that the sound travels easily through the ear canal to provide an immersive with no interference from outside noises.

How to set them up?
In general, wireless earbuds are easy to set up. You usually ensure your smartphone or tablet has Bluetooth and the earbuds are charged before pairing. TOZO X1 is no different. Here are the steps on how to set up TOZO Golden X1 earbuds:
- Take the earbuds out of the charging case.
- Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your device.
- The earbuds will automatically enter pairing mode.
- Select the "TOZO Golden X1" earbuds from your device on the list of available Bluetooth devices.
- The earbuds will be connected to your device.
- Download the TOZO (technology surrounds you) app from the App Store or Google Play and open up an account.
Once the earbuds are connected, and the app is downloaded, I recommend taking the hearing test to make sure you get the right levels in each earbud before you start using them. In the TOZO app, you can do a hearing test which will last about 3 minutes. Once done, you can get the optimum earbuds settings based on your age, gender, and listening capabilities.
How do the controls work on the TOZO X1?
Here are some of the basic controls:
- To play or pause music, double-tap on either earbud.
- To skip forward a track, triple-tap on the left earbud.
- To skip back a track, triple-tap on the right earbud.
- To answer a call, double tap on either earbud.
- To end a call, double tap on either earbud again.
- To reject a call, press and hold on either earbud for 2 seconds.
You can also use the TOZO app to customize the controls and get more features out of your earbuds.
Here are some additional tips for setting up your TOZO Golden X1 earbuds:
- If the earbuds do not enter pairing mode automatically, you can manually put them into pairing mode by pressing and holding the button on the back of the charging case for 5 seconds.
- If the earbuds are not connecting to your device, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on and that your device is within range of the earbuds.
- If you are having trouble connecting the earbuds to your device, you can try restarting both the earbuds and your device.
How much do they cost?
The TOZO Golden X1 Wireless Earbuds have an MSRP of $209.99 but are on sale for only $149.99 on the company website. The company is also offering a $15 off coupon which will lower the cost to $134.99. You can also pick up a pair on Amazon for $134.99.
Is $134.99 a reasonable price for wireless earbuds? Based on the features of these wireless earbuds, the Tozo X1 is priced in the middle of the road. They are more expensive than Soundpeats, 1More, and Jabra earbuds. And less expensive than Poly Voyager, Bose Comfort, and Sony wireless earbuds. But based on our experience, the list price of $209.99 is a little high, but the $134.99 price is a good deal for these wireless earbuds.
How did they perform?
We tested the TOZO X1 earbuds for several months and really liked how they performed. They fit nicely into our ears. We had no issues with the earbuds falling out of our ears while exercising or working around the house. I liked how lightweight they were and that they had an app that allowed us to adjust the sound mix to our liking.
The case was lightweight, and the LCD display was handy in keeping us informed on the battery life of each earbud. And the battery life is excellent. Not many wireless earbuds have a battery life of 30 hours on a single charge. And when you add the additional three full charges you can get from using the wireless charging case, users can get 3 hours a day of continuous listening for a month before they would have to charge the wireless charging case with the earbuds inside. Not bad.
As for controls, the touch controls were a little hard to master at first. We had to learn the best place to touch the earbuds. The earbuds were a little sensitive, and we had a few false touches in the beginning. But we had no issues once we got a feel for the controls.
Lastly, the immersive sound. The TOZO X1 comes with ANC, which is very strong. In fact, there are actually four modes of ANC - Noise Cancellation, Leisure Mode, Custom Pattern, and Reduce Wind Noise. The Noise Cancellation mode was great when commuting, but if you are on a run outside or walking along the street, you might want to use the Leisure Mode or Reduce Wind Noise so you can hear what is going on around you. As I mentioned in my reviews, wind noise is a problem with earbuds. It is hard for users to get a good fit with earbuds to block out the distortion caused by the wind blowing through their ears. Between the ergonomic fit and Reduce Wind Noise combo, we had little issues while listening to music when it was windy.
Summary
After months of using these wireless earbuds for workouts, commuting to work on a train, traveling on a plane, and working around the house (inside and out), I really liked the TOZO Golden X1 Wireless Earbuds. They were lightweight and provide a comfortable fit. The sound was excellent, and when we put the ANC - Reduce Wind Noise on, we had no distractions from the wind distorting our music. But one of the best features of these wireless earbuds is the battery life. Thirty hours is a long time, and when you add 3 additional charges from a wireless charging case that keeps you informed on the power left in each earbud, you get a month's worth of listening on a single charge. Not many wireless earbuds offer this amount of listening time on a single charge.
Overall, the TOZO Golden X1 is an excellent pair of wireless earbuds with a lot to offer. If you are looking for a pair of wireless earbuds with excellent sound quality, four modes of ANC, and exceptionally long battery life, the TOZO Golden X1 are a perfect option for you to consider. And if you can get them at the sale price of $134.99, it's an even better choice.
Pros:
- Great sound quality
- Four modes of ANC
- Long battery life
- IPX6 water-resistant
Cons:
- MSRP or List Price is high
- The touch controls can be a bit finicky
