Soundspeats Air3 Deluxe HS Wireless Earbuds Review
Wireless earbuds come in all shapes and sizes. You have earbuds that come with an extra silicon attachment called ear tips. Some manufacturers call these “in-ear” headphones. And you have half-in-ear earbuds which are what Apple AirPods are. These types of wireless earbuds are molded to fit into your ear without the need for ear tips and they provide a seal which is helpful on those windy days. Recently we got to test new half-in-ear wireless earbuds by Soundpeats Audio. They sent us their Air3 Deluxe HS wireless earbuds that work on a Bluetooth connection and we were extremely impressed with their performance and fit. Here is our full review of these inexpensive wireless half-in-ear earbuds which can give Apple AirPods a run for their money.

Soundpeats Air3 Deluxe HS is the first wireless half-in-ear earbuds with Hi-Res audio certification and LDAC codec we have tested. These lightweight earbuds have many features to deliver an immersive sound. They have a 14.2mm Bio-Diaphragm Driver that helps the earbuds deliver a natural and clean sound. You also get a dual-microphone with noise cancellation to ensure your phone calls are clear and easy for all parties to understand each other.
Another nice feature of these Soundpeats wireless earbuds is their battery life. The earbuds come with a Li-ion Polymer rechargeable battery as well as a wireless charging case. Both take about 90 minutes to charge, and the earbuds provide up to 5 hours of listening time on a single charge, but users can get 22 hours of listening time when using the charging case.
If you are a gamer, you are going to like the Air3 Deluxe HS earbuds. They come with the ideal latency for lag-free and uninterrupted viewing and interactivity when in “game mode.” Important feature gamers look for in headphones and earbuds.
Additional features include IPX4 waterproof rating, and works on a Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connection. It also has in-ear detection. This will allow you to stop your game or music on your smartphone when you need to take your earbuds out of your ears to speak with someone.

Like all Soundpeats wireless earbuds, the Air3 Deluxe HS comes with touch controls. Users need to touch the middle of the earbuds for control. Make sure your hands are not wet because it could prevent the earbuds from responding. The touch controls on the Air3 Deluxe HS are the same as the Air3 Pro earbuds we recently tested. Here is how the touch controls work:
- Clear Pairing: place both earbuds in the charging case and hold both buttons for 10 seconds. When the LEDs start flashing red and white twice, this means you have reset the earbuds.
- For the left earbud:
- Hold for 2 seconds for pairing mode.
- Hold for 1.5 seconds will put the earbuds in ANC or Normal modes
- Touch 3 times to put the earbuds in gaming mode
- 2 touches will answer a call or end it.
- 1 touch reduces the sound level.
- Right earbud controls
- 1 touch will increase the sound level
- 2 touches answer or end a call
- 3 touches will access your voice assistant on your smartphone like Siri if you have an Apple iPhone.
- Hold for 1.5 seconds to forward to the next track or end a call
- Hold for 2 seconds to go into pairing mode.
If you are a music lover and like to adjust the sound mix in your headphones or earbuds, you are in luck with these Soundpeats earbuds. They work with the Soundpeats app which is available in the App Store (iOS 13.0 or later) and Google Play (Android 6.0 and up). The Soundpeats app allows you to check the battery levels for each earbud, select the noise reduction mode, turn on gaming mode, and adjust the sound with an equalizer. The equalizer comes with preset options for you to choose as well as a customized option that allows you to adjust the levels yourself. The preset options include the following:
- Classical
- Bass Booster
- Bass Reducer
- Electronic
- Fashionable
- Classical music
- Rock
- Ballad
- Treble Booster
How do you set up these wireless half-in-ear earbuds?
Setup of the Air3 Deluxe HS earbuds is quite easy and quick. After unboxing your earbuds, make sure the earbuds are charged. On the front of the wireless charging case, you will see a LED light. If it is green, it means you have 50-100% battery life. If the LED is yellow, then you have 10-49% battery life for your earbuds. And if the LED is red, you need to charge the case with the earbuds in them because you have less than 10% battery life.
Once the earbuds are charged and you have downloaded the Soundpeats app from either the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), you can now pair them with your mobile device as long as it is compatible with Bluetooth 5.2. If so, you can connect the earbuds to your mobile device and the app. The app will allow you to adjust the sound mix for the earbuds.
How much do Air3 Deluxe HS earbuds cost?
The Soundpeats Air3 Deluxe HS wireless earbuds have an MSRP of $59.99 but are on sale for less. Right now, the company website and Amazon have the earbuds listed for $49.99. This is a great price for Bluetooth wireless half-in-ear earbuds with ANC and long battery life. Also, you can get the Air3 Deluxe HS wireless buds in white or black.
Performance
We have tested many inexpensive wireless earbuds lately. Some cost over $100 and others go for less than $50 a pair. The Air3 Deluxe HS earbuds performed as well as the more expensive wireless earbuds we tested. The touch controls are sensitive but since we have tested Soundpeats earbuds in the past, we were used to the sensitive touch control.
The Air3 Deluxe HS earbuds’ sound quality was excellent. We were able to play around with the Soundpeats app to find the right mix. The in-ear detection worked as advertised which was nice. But the best feature we enjoyed was the shape of the earbuds. These earbuds don’t come with ear tips, they are molded similarly to how Apple AirPods are shaped. As a result, we didn’t get as much wind noise when outside with the earbuds which is common in earbuds with ear tips.
Summary
We have been testing many Soundpeats earbuds over the past year and by far, the Air3 Deluxe HS is the best wireless earbuds we have tested to date. The sound quality was incredible. Touch controls were easy to master, and we liked the in-ear detection feature. And all for less than $50.
If you are in the market for Bluetooth wireless earbuds with great sound, and long battery life and don’t want to pay $199 for Apple AirPods, the Air3 Deluxe HS earbuds are a good pair to consider. They provide a great sound no matter what you listen to, the games you play, or the people you talk with on your mobile device.
