Xfinity Home customers can now add Leviton smart lighting devices to their controls
Customers with both Xfinity Home and Leviton smart lighting devices can now tie the two together through a new integration available now. Live now, the new features allow people to connect their Leviton light switches, dimmers and plug-in modules to the Xfinity Home network and control them all through one connection point.
Those controls come through the Xfinity Home app, a single stop for smart home management. As people buy more smart home devices, many often require downloading a new app to manage that product. In some cases, people can tie a number of devices together through a smart voice assistant, such as Google Home or Alexa. Xfinity Home provides a similar tie-in, integrating a number of products through its Works with Xfinity ecosystem into one place.
Customers can even tap into the Xfinity Home network by just using their voice remote, and from there operate their thermostat, cameras and their lighting. They can also create schedules as well, for example having light comes on when someone gets home, setting lights to turn on and off while away on vacation, or dim them through the remote as they settle in to watch a movie.
Xfinity Home is a smart home security setup from Comcast that is professionally installed. There are different systems customers can select which include door and window sensors, access to the Xfinity Home app and a pet-friendly motion sensor. From there they can upgrade to add cameras, wireless keypads and more.
In addition to the new integration with Leviton, Xfinity Home also work with other smart home brands, including Yale, August and Kwikset locks, Ecobee and Cor thermostats, plus other lighting companies including GE, Sengled, Philips Hue, Lifx and Caseta Wireless by Lutron.
