How To Set Up The New Google Chromecast (2015)
Setting up Google's new Chromecast is relatively easy, as long as your wireless network and phone or tablet are working properly.
1.) Plug the Chromecast into any open HDMI port on your TV or AV receiver and connect the USB power cable on the other side.
2.) Plug the power cable to an open USB port near your TV (many newer models and cable boxes have one) or into a standard power outlet through the included wall adapter.
3.) Connect the phone or tablet you will use to set up the Chromecast to your Wi-Fi network. and download and install the Chromecast app (for Android or iOS).
4.) Turn on your TV (and AV receiver, if you have one) and switch to the HDMI input where you have the Chromecast plugged in.
5.) Run the Chromecast app from your tablet or smartphone, and follow the on-screen directions.
Tip: If the app is not able to find your new Chromecast, try turning everything off – including your mobile device – and unplugging your modem for 1-2 minutes. Then try again.
6.) Most video and audio apps – including Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Pandora and Spotify – will have the “cast" icon. Click it and then select your Chromecast to start streaming.
