Samsung smartwatches now remind you to watch your hands
Following Google's Wear OS, Samsung's Tizen smartwatch platform now also reminds wearers to regularly wash their hands.
Appropriately called Hand Wash, the new app sends a notification every couple of hours reminding the wearer to wash your hands - which, as we should all know by now - is the best way to protect yourself from Covid-19.

When you respond to the notification, a 25-second countdown timer begins. This is intended to give you five seconds to apply soap, then wash for 20 seconds, which is the minimum time recommended by the World Health Organization.
Beyond that, the Hand Wash app includes a graph for tracking your hand-washing habits over the last seven days.
It also shows you how many times you've washed them each day, and there's a new Tizen watch face that keeps count of the number of daily washes, plus the time since you last washed them, right next to the current time.
The new app was created by Samsung's Research Institute in Bangalore, India, by a team of developers who are working from home.
With both Google and Samsung adding hand-washing apps to their smartwatch platforms this month, we wouldn't be surprised to see Apple, maker of the world's most popular smartwatch, join suit soon.
