Samsung teases ‘most powerful Galaxy’ for April 28 event, and it probably isn't a phone
Now well into its stride when it comes to online product launch events, Samsung is hosting yet another Unpacked showcase, this time on April 28.
The company made the announcement on April 13 with a video teasing what it describes as the "most powerful Galaxy" device it has ever made. But beyond a cardboard box being shipped to its new owner, the trailer doesn't give much away.

What we can ponder on, however, is whether this event will feature a smartphone or not. The Galaxy name has become synonymous with Samsung smartphones in recent years, but the term is also used for earphones, smartwatches and laptops too.
The latter is what we suspect Samsung has planned here, as recent weeks have seen rumors of the company preparing to launch laptops called the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Go. There has also been speculation of a device called the Galaxy Book Pro 360, featuring a 360-degree hinge for turning it from a laptop into a tablet.
This laptop is also tipped to feature an OLED display, support for the company's S-Pen stylus, and even 5G compatibility.
Since Samsung's two-year-old Galaxy laptops have ageing Intel processors and are long-overdue an update, we think this is the most likely outcome of the April 28 event, with the third-generation Z Fold smartphone coming later this summer.
April is turning into a busy month for technology fans, with Samsng's Unpacked event coming just a week after Apple's Spring Loaded event, which takes place on April 20. The company is expected to reveal new models of iPad Pro, and potentially a new iMac and its long-awaited AirTag device tracker too.
The latest Samsung Unpacked event will be held online and kicks off at 1-am ET on April 28. It will likely run for between 30 and 60 minutes.
