Meet the $250 Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro, linking motion to maps
The new Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro takes detection a step up with a motion sensor that maps along an aerial view so home owners can see the actual path someone took when they on a property.
The features supporting this include what Ring calls Bird's Eye View and also 3D Motion Detection — which both launched with the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 in February 2021.
These abilities are now sewn into the camera, giving property owners another way to keep an eye on their outdoor space, aside from a smart doorbell. The outdoor security camera is a wired device, but can be accessed wirelessly from a mobile app or from an Alexa-enabled device — and people can then both see visitors and speak with them as well in real-time.
One of the newer features, 3D Motion Detection, uses a radar sensor so the Ring device can immediately know when someone or something has cross a distance threshold set by the property owner. In that way, someone won't get a motion alert unless that distance has been breached.
The new outdoor security camera also includes motion and privacy zones the can be customized, a 110 db siren if needed, color night vision and a 2,000 lumen light.
People can begin pre-ordering the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro on Ring's web site and also on Amazon for $249.99 starting today, April 7, and it will begin to ship on May 6. The original Ring Floodlight Cam is still available, and now can be picked up at both Ring's web site and on Amazon for $199.99.
Ring is also launching for pre-order a new Ring Video Doorbell 4, which now support Pre-Roll technology, pulling up the four seconds before motion had been picked up, and recording that incisor as well. The Doorbell 4 also includes Quick Replies, customized motion zones and additional features — and can be preordered also on April 7, shipping on April 28, for $199.99 on both Ring's web site and Amazon's as well.
