JBuds Frames are Bluetooth speakers that attach to your glasses

JLab Audio's new Bluetooth speakers are small and portable, and designed to be carried close to the face. The new JBuds Frames attach right to glasses — sunglasses or corrective — sitting on either side and able to push out sound close to someone's ear.

While Bluetooth speakers do permit people to send music, podcasts or any audio wirelessly, they're typically at a size that can be placed on a book shelf or even attached to a backpack. Speakers small enough to link to glasses are not typical.

Debuting before CES 2021, each speaker is said to work independently, as Bluetooth wireless devices, and include drivers that are about 16mm and work for eight hours or more. They have an IPX4 rating, which means they're protected against splashing water, and are encased in a silicone sleeve with two hooks to help them stay in place. The Bluetooth range is 30 feet, and features allow the speakers to let the wearer answer calls, and increase the volume. They can also switch between two different EQ settings, either JLab's Signature or Bass Boost.

The speakers have a 120mAh lithium polymer battery and charge in two hours. The size of the speakers are a bit bulky, and attaching them will add 11.7 grams to glasses when worn.

The new JBuds Frames launch at 2021 CES, with the company hoping to bring them to market in early spring 2021 with a $50 price tag.
