A grid of 33 drivers is expected to make an appearance at Saturday's event at the 3.4-mile, 20-turn virtual course. The format will include a 10-minute qualifying session, followed by a 32-lap race. Just one fuel stop is expected during the race.
Those drivers include five-times series champion Scott Dixon, two-time and reigning series champion Josef Newgarden, 2018 Indianapolis 500 winner Will Power, and Robert Wickens, who has turned to virtual racing while recovering from spinal cord injury suffered while racing in 2018.
There will also be a special guest in the form of McLaren Formula One driver Lando Norris, who has become an esports star in recent weeks, appearing in a range of online events while waiting for the real-world 2020 F1 season to begin.
Another guest driver will be Chaz Mostert, who won the 2014 Bathurst 1000 and will be racing in the middle of the night from his native Australia. The full entry list can be viewed here.
Like eNascar, IndyCar's online equivalent uses the iRacing video game, with drivers competing from home using their computers and race simulators.
