Your Tile is about to get more useful
Tile promises relief for the forgetful — and it's launching a new service to add more security to its tracking devices. Called Tile Premium, the monthly subscription will amp up how Tile devices currently work.
Users who sign up for the $3 a month (or $30 a year) service will have access to a variety of features and free add-ons. To start there are Smart Alerts, a pro-active service which pings you if you leave the house, for example, without their "Tiled" device. You'll also be able to share a Tile with an unlimited number of people: ideal if you'd added one of these trackers to a dog collar, for example, or an office gadget everyone uses.
Tracker Tile Mate 4 Pack only $50 on company site.
Tile Premium users will also be able to get a 30-day location history of their Tile, and a three year warranty, with replacement coverage if your Tile fails in that time. For subscribers who need help, Tile Premium is going to bring red carpet help, with a direct texting line to Tile's customer service. You're also getting free, battery replacements — once a year which are sent automatically.
New Tiles too
The last feature ties into two new versions of its Tiles that the company is launching today as well. Both the Tile Mate and the Tile Pro are getting updates with increased volume in their alerts, longer range tracking — and rechargeable batteries.
Tile, which works via Bluetooth, has bumped the range these new versions can connect. Tile Mate, which retails for $25, previously tracked up to 100 feet, and can now be detected 150 feet away. Tile Pro, which is priced at $35, could track 200 feet, but now has a 300-foot range.
Tile Premium launches today — and customers can get a free one month trial before deciding whether they want to continue or not. They can sign up from Tile's web site, or through the iOS app. An Android version is not ready yet, but the company says it is coming soon.
